Local Treasure: Sunset Point

August 15, 2018

Talk about a great place for a Girls Night Out!

This was my second time eating here but the first time was for lunch. Dinner is a whole other experience. First of all the view is absolutely stunning. We had about a 30 minute wait so we grabbed a glass of wine from the bar and headed outside to the fire pit area. The restaurant is situated in an inlet in a beautiful marina in Fairhope, Alabama.

Sunset Over the Bay

The time to arrive is just before sunset. You cannot ask for a better show then watching the sun set over the bay. There is a special treat that I got lucky enough to experience. At sunset each day the bell is rung to signal a Cheers from all in attendance. I was the lucky girl sitting closest to said bell and got to do the honors.

We were seated shortly after at a lovely table with a great view. Our server came over and told us about the Chef Special for the day, each day there is a different selection. This particular day is was a Red Snapper Filet with pan fried Brussel sprouts and salad. It was to die for! The Sunset Point Salad with grilled shrimp was a close second and even though I don’t have a picture you cannot leave there without trying the Crab Mac’n Cheese.

One of my favorite things about dining here was that Chef Pete came out to introduce himself and talk with the guests about there meals. I had to get a pic with Pete because he is Chef at not only this amazing restaurant but also another favorite of mine Panini Pete’s which has been featured on the Food Network!

This is definitely a must try if you are ever in the Fairhope area. We are lucky to have it!
